DLSU women’s volleyball team sweeps FEU

De La Salle University (DLSU) beat Far Eastern University in a 25-15, 25-19, 26-24 sweep in the ongoing 81st UAAP women’s volleyball season over the weekend at the San Juan Arena.

Ernestine Tiamzon led DLSU with 13 points, while May Luna added 10.

Three-time defending champion DLSU reasserted mastery over their opponents early on as it opened the first set with a 16-6 advantage, eventually resulting in a 1-0 set edge.

It was almost the same scenario in the second frame with Tiamzon, Luna, and rookie Jolina dela Cruz coming up with powerful hits to take a 22-15 advantage.

DLSU opened the third set with an 8-1 score; however, FEU showed some life as it forced several deadlocks, with last at 24-all.

DLSU went on to make it a straight set win on back-to-back FEU errors.

In the other match, the University of Santo Tomas cruised to its third straight victory yesterday after their 25-18, 25-14, 25-20 sweep over the University of the East./ASC, WDJ
