The Ceres-Negros FC youth squad picked up their first win in the 3rd Philam Life 7s Football League after beating Stallion Laguna FC, 4-2, at the McKinley Hill Stadium in Taguig City.

Both sides showed off their wares in the first half as the two clubs closed the initial 45 minutes with a 2-2 draw. The Negrense side then managed to get two into the net in the second half to seal the win.

“Being in a tournament such as this one, which is organized by some Azkals players, it motivates us to become better players – to become better for the upcoming leagues,” said Ceres-Negros player Gael Papillon. “It gives us possibilities to join the big clubs such as Ceres and Kaya.”

“You lose some, you win some – it’s all part of the game,” he added. “It’s a question of whether you give up or stand up.”/ASC, WDJ
