Ateneo de Manila University (AdMU) solidified its place atop the UAAP Season 81 women’s volleyball standings following their 25-8, 22-25, 25-16, 25-10 win over Adamson University last Wednesday at the San Juan Arena.

Pauline Gaston led AdMU with 16 points, on 10 attacks and six service aces; while Bacolodnon Kassandra Gequillana had a double-double with 24 excellent digs and 10 excellent receptions.

After falling behind 4-0 early in the first set, AdMU went on a 17-1 scoring run behind Gaston, Bea de Leon, and Kat Tolentino, which was eventually halted by a Madeleine Madayag error.

Ateneo then pushed an 8-2 run to finish the set.

Adamson managed to snatch a set from the league leaders but AdMU answered strongly in the third set, opening with an early double digit edge and never looking back.
