The Department of Health-Region 6 (DOH-6) yesterday confirmed the number of dengue-related deaths reported in the Western Visayas has reached 17.
Records released by DOH-6 showed, as of March 2, they have recorded 3,600 cases in the region.
Negros Occidental currently has the most dengue-related deaths with eight, followed by Iloilo with three.
The DOH Center for Health Development in the Western Visayas urged the public to further strengthen the “4S strategy” for fighting dengue, which stands for Searching and destroying mosquito nests; observing Self protection measures; Seeking early consultation; and Saying yes to fogging./DGB, WDJ
