Yap seeks back-to-back three-point shootout titles

Escalante City native James Yap, who plays for the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters, is set to face tough competition when he defends his Three-Point Shootout title during this year’s PBA All-Star Week, which is set to take place from March 29 to 30 in Calasiao, Pangasinan.

Those standing in his way for a third overall title include Robert Bolick of NorthPort Batang Pier, Peter Jun Simon of Magnolia Hotshots, Simon Enciso – Alaska Aces, Philip Paniamogan – NLEX Road Warriors, Michael Digregorio – Blackwater Elite, Reden Celda – Columbian Dyip, Baser Amer – Meralco Bolts, Roger Pogoy – TnT Katropa, LA Tenorio – Barangay Ginebra San Miguel, Marcio Lassiter – San Miguel Beermen, and Matthew Wright – Phoenix Pulse Fuel Masters.

The 37-year-old Negrense first won the title in 2009.

Meanwhile, Bacolodnons Siverino Baclao of the Alaska Aces and Justin Chua of the Phoenix Pulse Fuel Masters, alongside Pontevedra native Raymar Jose of Blackwater Elite, are set to compete in the Obstacle Challenge./ASC, WDJ
