A brace by San Carlos City native Shanden Vergara earned De La Salle University a 2-1 win over the University of the Philippines in their UAAP men’s football match earlier this week at the Far Eastern University-Diliman (FEU-Diliman) pitch.

“Masaya, kasi, hindi ko inexpect this kind of game na intense (I’m happy because I didn’t expect the game would be this intense),” he said. “I’m really happy to score a couple of goals for my school, kasi mahirap ‘to, mahirap maka-score sa UAAP college level (I’m really happy to score a couple goals because it is difficult to score on the UAAP college level).”
