Bernalyn Bejoy and Trexie dela Torre of Team Negros Occidental each clinched a silver medal at the 2019 Ayala Philippine Athletics Championships last Wednesday at the City of Ilagan Sports Complex in Ilagan, Isabela.

Bejoy captured silver in the girls’ 400-meter hurdles and dela Torre won silver in the girls’ 100-meter dash.

According to Team Negros Occidental head coach Adriana Arca, it is still being determined if Bejoy’s 62.14 second finish was enough to qualify her for the 2019 Southeast Asian Games.

Meanwhile, Negrense Louielyn Pamatian of University of Santo Tomas took home a gold medal in the women’s 800-meter dash; along with winning silver in the 4×100-meter relay alongside Alyssa Andrade, Rosnani Ramos Pamaybay, and Tris Janario./ASC, WDJ
