In commemoration of La Consolacion College-Bacolod (LCC) turning 100 next week, March 12, around 2,000 LCC students, faculty, and alumni gathered for a pilgrimage walk last week, which stretched from the main campus to the Pope John Paul II Tower, located in Bacolod City’s reclamation area.

Center of Augustinian Formation head Maria Girlie Abad called the event symbolic, likening the walk to LCC, the oldest institution of higher education in Negros Occidental, reaching a milestone and moving onward.

LCC president, Sr. Gavina F. Barrera, also addressed those gathered and paid homage to the Our Lady of Consolation.

A series of other events are also scheduled to take place to commemorate the school turning 100 including the Centennial Legacy Awards, which will feature LCC alumnae, veteran actress Susan Roces; a motorcade and “Barrio Fiesta” lunch; among other activities./WDJ
