NOPSSCEA sweeps football titles

The Negros Occidental Private School Sports, Cultural and Educational Association (NOPSSCEA) recently swept the men’s football events at the 2019 Western Visayas Private Schools Athletic Association (WVPRISAA) Meet in Bacolod City.

The Negrense side dominated the Iloilo Private Schools Athletic Association (ILOPRISAA) and defended their title in the men’s tertiary division with a 5-0 win; the same sides faced off in the secondary division, with NOPSSCEA also defending the title after winning 4-3 on penalties.

In other events, the Negros Occidental-based association won gold in taekwondo through Mary Angeline Alcantara, along with a silver medal from Kaizerr Mohamento; while Gauis Corral won gold in karatedo in the secondary boys’ kata event.

However, in secondary girls’ basketball, ILOPRISAA defeated NOPSSCEA in their finals series./ASC, WDJ
