Negrense bags gold medal in athletics

Hannah Jandra Delotavo of the Negros Occidental Private School Sports, Cultural and Educational Association (NOPSSCEA) captured gold in athletics at the 2019 Western Visayas Private Schools Athletic Association (WVPRISAA) Meet over the weekend in Bacolod City, winning in the secondary girls’ 400-meter dash event.

Her teammates, meanwhile, also picked up medals in various events.

Antonette Jay Aguillon won silver medals in the secondary girls’ long jump and 100-meter dash; her sister, Krisha Dedoyco Aguillon, captured bronze in the 400-meter dash; Bea Delotavo took silver in the 100-meter hurdles; Jaden Gil Rivera won silver in the 1500-meter dash; Klyde Montalbo took silver in the 2K walkathon; and May Therese Gula won bronze in the 1500-meter dash.

In the secondary boys’ competition, Ralph Vincent Acuna won bronze in the 400-meter dash.

Among other events, NOPSSCEA captured silver in tertiary women’s table tennis./ASC, WDJ
