Suspected gun-for-hire group member arrested in Silay City

An suspected gun-for-hire group member was arrested Thursday night after Silay City police served him a search warrant in the city’s Barangay E. Lopez.

Police identified the suspect as 33-year-old Allean Rano, a resident of Hacienda Cabungahan in the said barangay.

Silay City police chief, Police Lieutenant Colonel Noel Polines, said they recovered two hand grenades, a .45 caliber pistol, 20 .45 caliber bullets, eight 12-gauge shotgun shells, and different cartridge cases for various firearms.

He added, the suspect also has an outstanding murder charge.

Rano is facing charges of illegal possession of firearms and explosives, along with violation of the Commission on Elections gun ban.

The suspect is detained at the Silay City Police Station./DGB, WDJ
