Bacolod City National Bureau of Investigation (NBI-Bacolod) officer-in-charge, Atty. Renoir Baldovino, said they have yet to receive any directives from national headquarters in connection to the reportedly deadly ‘Momo Challenge.’

According to Baldovino, their office has not yet received any complaints or request for an investigation into the matter.

He pointed out, since the challenge is encountered via the internet, the NBI-Cybercrime Division is the lead law enforcement office that investigates such issues.

“However, if we receive any request or complaints, we can also conduct our own investigation,” Baldovino said.

The local NBI official pointed out, the cybercrime division has the expertise and equipment to locate those responsible for the challenge.

The NBI-Bacolod head advised parents to monitor the sites and applications being accessed by their children./DGB, WDJ
