Power Foundation Inc. recently graduated 170 students with 150 completing a welding program and another 20 finishing coursework on Japanese language and culture. A culmination activity was held yesterday at the Provincial Capitol Social Hall in Bacolod City.
The welding students were earlier declared “competent” by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority following assessment for the shielded metal arc welding national certificate program.
Meanwhile, the students studying Japanese have since been offered jobs in Japan.
According to Phil-Apex Placement Agency Inc. president, Engr. Alan Nuega, many skilled workers in Japan are hired as construction workers, food processors, farmers, laundry workers, among other jobs.
Also present for the event were Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon, Jr., Negros Occidental Scholarship Program Division head Karen Dinsay, Grace Lipa of the Provincial Planning and Development Office, among others./WDJ
