Kaya draws Lao Toyota

Kaya FC-Iloilo gave up a late goal and settled for a 1-1 draw with Lao Toyota FC in the ongoing 2019 AFC Cup last Wednesday at the New Laos National Stadium in Vientiane.

The Ilonggo side opened the match aggressively, resulting in Barotac Nuevo native Jovin Bedic scoring in the 18th minute. However, they were unable to add on to their score throughout the first half. Meanwhile, Lao striker Kazuo Homma and defender Saison Khounsamnan both misfired opportunities for the home side.

Lao striker Victor Amaro also had a chance at goal but his header was off-target.

It wasn’t until the dying minutes of the match when Lao defender Sayfa Aphideth equalized in the 87th minute.

Kaya had one final chance to clinch victory but forward Darryl Roberts’s free kick attempt struck the post.

The Ilonggo side next plays Home United of Singapore on March 13 at the Panaad Park and Stadium in Bacolod City./ASC, WDJ
