A 2.4-magnitude earthquake was recorded north of Cauayan yesterday morning just before 5:00 a.m.
According to a subsequent Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) bulletin, no damage was reported as a result of the tremor.
There were also no aftershocks expected.
Meanwhile, last Thursday, Sipalay City experienced two evening earthquakes with a 1.9-magnitude tremor striking at 10:10 p.m. and a second quake hitting at 10:32 p.m.
Just last weekend, a 3.0-magnitude tremor struck the Negros Occidental city.
Succeeding Phivolcs bulletins reported no damage as a result of the tremor nor were there any anticipated aftershocks.
Quakes ranging between 1.0 and 3.0 in magnitude are often classified as a Level 1 on the Mercalli Intensity Scale, where the tremor goes almost undetected./WDJ
