With Negros Occidental seeking to host the 2021 Palarong Pambansa, a joint technical inspection team arrived in the province recently to conduct inspections and validations for sporting venues and proposed accommodation facilities.

The inspections, which came to an end yesterday, brought the team to Bago City, Bacolod City, Silay City, and Talisay City.

The team, led by Department of Education School Sports Division Chief Cesar Abalon and Project Development Officer Lemuel Valles, paid courtesy visits on Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon, Jr. and Vice Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson at the Provincial Capitol earlier this week.

According to Valles, the proposed playing venues were compliant by Department of Education standards and said there were sufficient accommodation facilities for the event.

The inspection team said the Palaro Board will convene mid-March and notify the province of the bid result./WDJ
