Iloilo City Mayor Jose Espinosa III turned over P500,000 worth of cleaning equipment earlier this week to the local City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO). The equipment is intended for eco-friendly initiatives to be conducted by the city.
“Let us unite and make our city more productive,” the mayor said. “We are one for a clean and green Iloilo City.”
Among the items the Iloilo CENRO now has at its disposal include raincoats, rubber boots, lifejackets, plastic masks, ropes, first aid kits, hard hats, diving suits, among other such gear.
“With [this] equipment, our personnel will be able to sustain and beautify our plazas, river, [the] Esplanade, and the entire city,” stated Assistant CENRO Department Head Cristina Octavio.
The city’s General Services Office also received some equipment to assist in accomplishing programs associated with the city’s beautification program./WDJ
