Kaya FC faces Lao

Kaya FC-Iloilo opens their 2019 AFC Cup campaign against Lao Toyota FC tonight at the New Laos National Stadium in Vientiane.

“Our preparation was good; my players are focused and excited for our first AFC Cup game,” said Kaya FC head coach Noel Marcaida. “It’s going to be an interesting game; we are taking this game as an opportunity to show our level of play.”

However, he did acknowledge their opener was taking place on enemy turf.

“It is their home court advantage and, for sure, they will come out aggressive,” the coach added. “But if everything we have planned goes into place, we are positive that we can get a positive result.”

The two are drawn in Group H alongside Home United FC of the Singapore Premier League and PSM Makassar of Indonesia’s Liga 1. Both clubs finished second place in their respective leagues./ASC, WDJ
