Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia and Lone District Representative Greg Gasataya were both recently endorsed by senatorial candidate, former Department of the Interior and Local Government Secretary Rafael Alunan III.

The former cabinet official offered his support during an assembly of Bacolod City barangay captains.

Both Leonardia and Gasataya thanked Alunan for his trust and confidence.

Alunan, who is originally from Bacolod City, was recently named to President Rodrigo Duterte’s official Senate slate, occupying the last spot.

The candidate was also previously endorsed by Negros Occidental gubernatorial candidate, incumbent Negros Occidental Vice Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson, who said he would be supporting candidates based on where they are from, specifically, Negrense candidates./DGB, WDJ
