A 36-year-old man was arrested over the weekend at Purok Proper in Pontevedra’s Barangay General Malvar after a search of his home yielded a firearm.

Police identified the suspect as Lon Artiola.

Pontevedra municipal police chief, Police Captain Rhojn Darell Nigos, said a warrant was issued against Artiola over alleged violation of RA 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.

Nigos said they recovered a .45 caliber pistol, one .45 caliber magazine, and six live .45 caliber bullets.

Artiola faces illegal possession of firearms charges and is detained at the Pontevedra Municipal Police Station./DGB, WDJ
