Two earthquakes struck Negros with a 3.0-magnitude tremor recorded south of Sipalay City in Negros Occidental just after 10:20 a.m. on Saturday and a 3.8-magnitude quake hitting south of Basay in Negros Oriental around 2:34 a.m. on Sunday.

According to subsequent Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology bulletins, no damage was reported as a result of the tremor.

There were also no aftershocks expected.

According to the Mercalli Intensity Scale, earthquakes that range between 3.0 and 3.9 in magnitude are considered between a Level II and III, where a few people feel the tremor, particularly those on the upper floors of buildings; meanwhile, quakes ranging between 1.0 and 3.0 in magnitude are often classified as a Level I, where the tremor goes almost undetected./WDJ
