Multicab crashes in Pahanocoy after driver dozes off

At least two people were injured after their multicab crashed into a concrete electrical post yesterday afternoon along Araneta Street, Barangay Pahanocoy, Bacolod City.

Police identified the victims as 30-year-old Stanislao Nanipa, a resident of Purok Pedrosa in the city’s Barangay Alijis; and 21-year-old Jonel Sandico, a resident of Purok Kaingin, Barangay Punta Taytay of the said city.

Based on a statement provided by Nanipa to police, they were coming from Barangay Taloc in Bago City and were delivering water.

Nanipa said he dozed off while driving, which resulted in the crash.

The victims were pinned inside their vehicle for several minutes, but were later rescued by the Amity Volunteer Fire Brigade.

The two were rushed to a hospital in the city after sustaining injuries./DGB, WDJ
