Marell Lagunday-Alvarez of the Lopue’s Table Tennis Association (LOPTTA) won at the recent 9th Flexible Cup International Table Tennis Championship at Harrison Plaza in Manila. She captured the veterans title and won bronze in the women’s open.

The LOPTTA player scored a straight set victory over Susan Tayag in the finals.

In the women’s open, after losing 3-2 to eventual champion Crisanta Abas in the semifinals, Lagunday-Alvarez took third place alongside Muse Balatbat.

The competition saw players from Malaysia, China, Indonesia, and Taiwan join the tournament./WDJ
