Mayor forecasts a ‘record year’

According to Bacolod City Permits and Licensing Division head Stela Rose Rayos, business permits in the city are nearing 17,000, with 16,994 recorded as of last month.
According to the city official, the amount indicates a six percent increase in registrations as compared to the same period last year, where 16,071 registrations were recorded.
“If this trend continues, we will have another record-breaking year,” said Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia. “This is very encouraging.”
The mayor touted the Business One-Stop Shop (BOSS), which various cities, including Bacolod City, set up every year to make the business registration process more efficient.
According to a release from the Bacolod City government, “Under [BOSS], business owners who can pay their permits taxes in full from January 1 to February 28 can avail of a 10 percent discount.”/DGB, WDJ
