AdMU beats FEU in UAAP women’s volleyball

Ateneo de Manila University (AdMU) battled back from two sets down and beat Far Eastern University (FEU) 14-25, 19-25, 25-21, 25-18, 15-12 in the 81st UAAP women’s volleyball season over the weekend at the San Juan Arena.

Katrina Tolentino led AdMU with 19 points on 17 attacks and two blocks, while Madeleine Madayag added 14 markers.

After losing the first two sets, AdMU showed some life in the third period and took a 20-19 advantage. FEU hung around but a block by Deanna Wong and a hit from Tolentino handed the set to Ateneo.

AdMU opened the fourth set up 14-7 but FEU then managed to narrow the gap to 16-12. Banking on hits from Tolentino and Madayag, AdMU pushed the match into a fifth set.

Both teams faced tight exchanges in the fifth frame. With the score tied at 10-10, FEU committed a series of errors and gave AdMU a 14-12 lead.
