‘Yolanda’ housing units turned over in Silay City

The National Housing Authority (NHA) recently turned over ‘Yolanda’ housing units in Silay City’s Barangay E. Lopez.

Housing units were turned over to the first 300 beneficiaries, primarily comprised of informal settlers, senior citizens, and members of the disabled community.

NHA-Bacolod manager, Engr. Alejandro Ongsuco, who led the turnover ceremony, congratulated the recipients.

In addition, Silay City Mayor Mark Golez urged beneficiaries to form a homeowners’ association.

Also present for the ceremony included Presidential Commission for the Urban Poor Commissioner for Visayas Romeo Jandugan; Central Negros Electric Cooperative Inc. (Ceneco) Silay Area Manager Lilibeth Gabian; Joselito Gaston of Ceneco; Silay City police chief, Police Superintendent Noel Polines; Silay City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer Alex Muñoz; Silay City fire marshal, Fire Senior Inspector Jovelin Zamar; City Councilors Linda Caja and Mildred Garay; among others./WDJ
