While June is traditionally the most popular month to exchange vows, data showed around 10.6 percent of weddings were held that month.

Meanwhile, March turned out to be the least popular with 4.1 percent of weddings taking place during that period.

The agency also saw over half of marriages were performed through civil ceremonies, while Roman Catholic rites comprised of 41 percent.

According to national PSA data recorded last September, data surrounding marriage showed an overall jump in the number of recorded marriages between 2016 and 2017. While Region VI came in fifth among recorded marriages, it also saw a slight decrease in numbers, declining from 8.5 percent to 8.3 percent.
