Candidates of the ‘Otso Diretso’ lineup are scheduled to campaign in Negros Occidental today.

Based on information provided by their Negros Occidental chapter, the candidates will be holding radio interviews, courtesy calls, and market events throughout the morning.

The candidates are also scheduled to host a press conference followed by “community encounter and listening sessions” in Bacolod City’s Barangay Banago.

The opposition ‘Otso Diretso’ senate lineup is comprised of incumbent Senator Paolo ‘Bam’ Aquino IV; incumbent Magdalo partylist Rep. Gary Alejano; Attys. Romulo Macalintal, Chel Diokno, and Florin Hilbay; Samira Gutoc; former Deputy Speaker Erin Tañada; and former Department of the Interior and Local Government Secretary Mar Roxas

Diokno held a press conference at the Negros Press Club in Bacolod City towards the end of last year, where he said the rising prices of commodities and continued corruption by politicians are among “injustices” currently faced by Filipinos.

He also made note of the burial of former President Ferdinand Marcos at the Libingan ng mga Bayani, which occurred over two years ago, and characterized it as an “injustice.”/DGB, WDJ
