A motorcyclist was killed, while his backrider was injured, after he was struck by a truck early yesterday morning along Access Road in Barangay Matab-ang, Talisay City, Negros Occidental.

Police identified the fatality as 42-year-old Manuel Parcon, a resident of Barangay Dos Hermanas in the said city. The injured victim, meanwhile, refused to identify himself to police.

Talisay City police traffic investigators said Parcon was heading north when he struck by a southbound truck driven by 43-year-old Julie Sadia.

Sadia claimed Parcon repeatedly changed lanes and he blew his horn numerous times to warn the motorcycle operator.

Parcon was rushed to the Talisay City health clinic, but he was declared dead on arrival by hospital staff.

The hospital staff also noted the victims were intoxicated at the time of the incident.

Sadia is presently detained at the Talisay City Police Station./DGB, WDJ
