After residential power rates increased by 17¢ last month, the Central Negros Electric Cooperative Inc. (Ceneco) announced rates for February 2019 will go up by around 15¢ per kilowatt-hour (kWh). Rates increased from P11.3527/kWh to ₱11.4991/kWh this month.

Power rate fees, which include generation, transmission, and system loss costs, still contributed the most to rates at 72.2 percent of charges at P8.2961/kWh, an increase from last month’s rate of P8.1326/kWh.

Another 10.32 percent, at 1.1866/kWh, went to Ceneco distribution, supply, and metering costs; along with payments to the sustainable capital expenditure fund, which is intended for the rehabilitation of aging transmission lines.

Earlier this month, Ceneco conducted elections for member-consumer-owner officers across Bacolod City’s five districts. The elected parties are responsible for coordinating with district directors in an effort to improve services by the utility cooperative.

Each chairperson was also elected alongside a vice chairperson, treasurer, and secretary./WDJ
