Philippines eliminated

The Philippine men’s under-22 football team was eliminated from the 2019 AFF U-22 Youth Championship following their 3-0 loss to Thailand last Tuesday at the National Olympic Stadium in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

Thai midfielder Jaroensak Wonggorn quickly drew first blood, scoring in the 3rd minute. Less than 10 minutes later, fellow midfielder Jedsadakorn Kowngam doubled the lead, putting the Thai side up 2-0.

Thai defender and team captain Saringkan Promsupa scored the third goal in the 84th minute.

Despite being eliminated, the Philippines next plays Timor-Leste at the same venue./ASC, WDJ
