Following the reopening of popular resort destination Boracay, which now requires visitors to secure accommodations before they are cleared for travel, the Department of Tourism-Region VI (DOT-6) said, between October 2018 and last month, they assisted 2,049 tourists through their Boracay Field and Compliance Monitoring Offices.
“We urge the public to book ahead of time to avoid inconvenience,” explained DOT-6 director, Atty. Helen J. Catalbas.
Among the tourists assisted, 1,579 were domestic visitors, while 470 were from foreign countries./WDJ
