Negros Occidental archer picks up second gold

Julianne Rongo of Negros Occidental yesterday won her second archery gold medal in the ongoing 2019 Western Visayas Regional Athletic Association meet, which is currently taking place in Roxas City, Capiz. After earlier winning gold in the secondary girls’ 30-meter distance competition, she then captured the 400-meter title.

Britney Samson of Aklan finished in second place, while Darnielle Deramos of Iloilo came in third.

Other Negrense gold medalists include Salvador Escalante in the 300-meter distance archery competition, Trexie Dela Torre in the 100-meter dash, Joshua Sevilla – 110-meter hurdles, June Philip Martinez – shotput, Keven Candazo – high jump, Jamela de Asis – shotput, Lyndon Huelar – shotput, Bernalyn Bejoy – 800-meter dash, Althea Bayalas – high jump, Jean Villadas and Julieanne Oberes – arnis, and Chris Ann Dayanan – 800-meter run./ASC, WDJ
