At least one person was killed, while three others were injured, after their motorcycle crashed into a broken down truck Saturday night along Circumferential Road in Barangay Bata, Bacolod City.

Police identified the fatality as 45-year-old Lorena Navarosa, a resident of Barangay Guimbalaon, Silay City; while the injured were identified as 29-year-old Dianne Pareño, 33-year-old Roda Palabrica, and 50-year-old Erenio Navarosa, 50, also residents of Silay City.

Police Station 3 traffic investigator, Police Officer 3 Eliseo Adraneda said the truck, which was carrying bags of sugar, broke down and was forced to park along the side of the road.

Adraneda said the motorcyclist may have failed to see the parked vehicle as the area not lit and there was no early warning device installed.

The injured victims were rushed to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital for treatment./DGB, WDJ
