Semifinal hopes still alive for UNO-R Team A

University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos Team A (UNO-R Team A) remains in contention for the semifinals in the 16th Iloilo Paraw Regatta National Women’s Beach Volleyball Tournament, which kicked off at the Joe III Garden in Iloilo City’s Arevalo district over the weekend.

UNO-R Team A opened the competition with a 21-17-21-15 loss to Sta. Lucia Lady Realtors-Iloilo; however, they managed to pull off a 21-11, 21-10 win over Central Philippine University and a 21-18, 21-17 victory over National University.

Their 2-1 record keeps them in second place in Bracket B, where they lag behind the undefeated Sta. Lucia Lady Realtors-Iloilo.

Meanwhile, in Bracket A, the defending champions Perlas Lady Spikers and University of Santo Tomas are tied for first place.

The top two teams in each bracket advance to the semifinals, with the winners of their matches moving on to the finals, which is currently being played as of press time./ASC, WDJ
