G daBombs recovered in La Carlota City

Nine unexploded vintage bombs were recently recovered and disposed of by the Philippine Army 62nd Infantry Battalion (62IB) explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) unit at Hacienda Fe in Barangay Batuan, La Carlota City, Negros Occidental.

Based on information released by 62IB, a farmer was tilling his fields with a tractor when he unearthed the explosives.

The farmer immediately contacted authorities and the 1st EOD Platoon was sent in order to safely dispose the explosives.

62IB commander, Lt. Colonel Egberto Dacoscos, said the recovery will prevent any untoward incident from happening, pointing out, the unexploded bombs pose a danger to locals.

He also encouraged local residents to immediately report if they discover any more explosives./DGB, WDJ
