Eight Negrenses to feature in UAAP volleyball opener

Eight volleyball players from Negros Occidental are expected to feature this weekend when the UAAP Season 80 men’s and women’s volleyball tournaments opens at the San Juan Arena.

Sisters Kassandra and Candice Gequillana of Bacolod City will suit up for Ateneo de Manila University, Hannah Infante of Bacolod City and La Carlota City’s Christine Joy Soyud are a part of the Adamson University squad, the University of the Philippines (UP) will feature Bacolodnons Ma. Arielle Estranero and Jessma Ramos, and National University (NU) has Bacolodnon rookie Gelina Luceño on their roster.

Meanwhile, Far Eastern University (FEU) has Bacolod City native Clark Fernandez on their men’s team.

Opening day for the ladies’ competition includes UP taking on the University of the East and FEU versus NU./ASC, WDJ
