Bacolod City observed World Radio Day earlier this week, an international observance the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization, or UNESCO, considers “a time where people around the world celebrate radio and how it shapes our lives.”
The city government, in partnership with the Negros Occidental chapter of the Kapisanan ng mga Broadkaster sa Pilipinas (KBP), celebrated mass at the San Sebastian Cathedral, took part in a motorcade from the Bacolod Public Plaza to Punta Taytay Barangay Hall, and conducted a feeding program in the said barangay.
Later this month, on February 27, an awards ceremony will be held at the SMX Convention Center at SM City Bacolod to recognize outstanding local broadcasters and radio talents./WDJ
