A reticulated python that was earlier turned over to the Cadiz City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) was recently released back into the wild last Tuesday at the Gawahon Eco Park in Victorias City.

The snake measured 1.5 meters long and, according to CENRO officials, is in good physical health.

According to Reptiles Magazine, the reticulated python is one of the longest snakes in the world, with the longest measuring 32 feet (9.75 meters) in length; and is native to Indonesia, India, and the Philippines.

The snake typically feeds on rats but is also known to feast on pigs and primates./WDJ
