Negrense boxers Allan Vallespin and Leonardo Doronio both suffered defeats last Thursday at the Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan.

Vallespin of Bacolod City lost his second consecutive fight, falling via knockout to Yoshimitsu Kimura of Japan; while Doronio, a Valencia, Negros Oriental native, lost via technical knockout to another Japanese fighter, Kosuke Arioka.

Just last week, Negrense boxers Roldan Aldea of Kabankalan City and Romel Oliveros of Bacolod City also lost bouts to Japanese foes at the same venue.

Meanwhile, Carlo Peñalosa of San Carlos City and Ruben Traza of Bacolod City are expected to feature in an event tonight at the SM City North EDSA Skydome.

The boxing event where Peñalosa faces Thai fighter Watana Phenbaan and Traza of Bacolod City meets newcomer John Mark Tihuk was originally scheduled to take place last weekend./ASC, WDJ
