Provincial government distributes over P15M in allowances

The Negros Occidental provincial government recently turned over P15,534,000 to delegates representing the province in the 2019 Western Visayas Regional Athletic Association (WVRAA) meet, which opens on Sunday at the Villareal Stadium in Roxas City, Capiz.

The allocation will fund student-athlete allowances, meals, uniforms, transportation allowances, supplies, along with other items.

A total of 534 athletes and 187 coaches and trainers will be representing Negros Occidental in the competition.

According to Negros Occidental Provincial Sports Coordinator Angel Verdeflor, such events help in training youth athletes in their respective sports by improving skills and developing potential./WDJ
