Genesis Servania of Bacolod City lost to American boxer Carlos Castro via unanimous decision in their non-title featherweight bout last Monday at the Save Mart Center, which is located on the campus of California State University, Fresno in the United States.
The American fighter immediately made his presence felt in the first two rounds, pounding Servania with punches and opening a cut above the latter’s right eye.
The Bacolodnon fighter tried narrowing the point spread in the third round and unloaded an occasional right hand to the head and body. However, Castro was quick to respond in the following rounds with punch combinations before backing away from the counterpunches.
While the American continued to dominate in the second half of the fight, Servania made a final push in the later rounds but it was not enough to turn things around.
The three judges decided in favor of Castro 100-90, 99-91, and 98-92./ASC, WDJ
