Farmers’ organization Task Force Mapalad is planning to host a rally today outside the Department of Agrarian Reform provincial office today, located along San Sebastian Street in Dawis, Bacolod City.

Organizers estimate around 500 will join the event calling for President Rodrigo Duterte to fast-track agrarian reform programs in Negros and to protest lagging land distribution claims.

According to a release put out by the group, the province is home to the largest Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP) backlog.

They believe the president must begin the distribution of 30 landholdings across 900 hectares of land, which Task Force Mapalad said is “already in the CARP pipeline.”

The demonstrators’ tagline will be: “Let’s DU the #30, President Duterte!”/WDJ
