Negros Occidental girls’ volleyball set to defend title

The Negros Occidental girls’ volleyball team is set to defend their Western Visayas Regional Athletic Association (WVRAA) meet title with this year’s competition set to begin on Sunday, February 17, in Roxas City, Capiz.
“Our preparation started last December – even on Christmas break and Sundays,” said Erika Deloria. “We are training because we are determined to keep our throne and to play again in Palarong Pambansa.”
The upcoming competition serves as a qualifier for the 2019 Palarong Pambansa, which will take place in Davao City.
The Negros Occidental team is comprised of Bacolod Tay Tung High School standouts Shane Carmona, Kiesha Bedonia, Beatrice Decena, and Katherine Shane Cortez; alongside Rhean Almendralejo, Kyrzten Annikha Cabasac, Alyssa Bertolano, Aurea Claudette Alvero, Melody Pons, and Myrtle Escanlar./ASC, WDJ
