Mark Nonoy of La Carlota City capped off his high school career by leading the University of Santo Tomas (UST) to an 85-64 rout over the De La Salle Santiago Zobel School (DLSZ) in the 81st UAAP juniors basketball season last Sunday at the San Juan Arena.

The Negrense guard finished with 16 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists.

UST immediately cruised to a 31-21 lead, which grew to 53-27 at the half with Nonoy unloading 12 first half markers.

The eventual winners went on to pull further away in the second half with Jomar Amador, John Casingcasing, and Gian Benzonan converting shots to build its largest lead of 28 points.

After ending his one-year stint with the Tiger Cubs, Nonoy, a former Hua Siong College of Iloilo standout, is set to move into UST’s seniors squad and will be part of the school’s team in the PBA D-League./ASC, WDJ
