The Department of Tourism-Region VI (DOT-6) will be unveiling their Iloilo MICE (meetings, incentives, conventions, exhibitions) Situationer and Marketing Plan starting today, which is intended to provide updates on how they are working to make Iloilo City a MICE destination.
“Our benchmark should be at par with international standards,” explained DOT-6 director, Atty. Helen J. Catalbas. “Our partners should upgrade, improve, and develop their services and tourism products because sooner than later, Iloilo City is the next big thing in the MICE industry.”
The presentation is scheduled to run through tomorrow, with a training also set to take place, which will be conducted by the Philippine Association of Conventions and Event Organizers and Suppliers.
The Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) marketing and promotions team was in Iloilo City last month for a tourism MICE facilities and products validation.
“MICE organizers are attracted to the variety of activities Iloilo City can offer delegates; from natural and cultural attractions to scenic view and delectable cuisines,” Catalbas said at the time. “Iloilo City is growing in terms of tourism facilities, attractions, and connectivity to other regions of the country.”/WDJ
