Three suspected drug personalities were arrested yesterday morning following a high-speed car chase with Bago City police at the San Esteban Subdivision in the city’s Barangay Lag-asan.
Police identified the suspects as 25-year-old Michael Salgado, 25-year-old Mary Rose Nogales, and 23-year-old Jeaner Nogales, all residents of Barangay Banago, Bacolod City.
Bago City police chief, Police Superintendent Eleuterio Ricardo, Jr. said they were conducting a routine patrol in the said subdivision when they spotted the suspects’ blue-colored van.
Cops immediately ordered the vehicle to stop; however, the suspects instead reportedly sped off, prompting the car chase.
Police fired several warning shots and repeatedly ordered the suspects to stop, but they continued to drive.
Bago City police eventually stopped the suspects after shooting at the vehicle, hitting the van’s rear window.
A search of the vehicle yielded five plastic sachets of suspected shabu and drug paraphernalia.
The suspects, meanwhile, denied ownership of the drugs recovered from the vehicle, claiming the vehicle was rented.
Police are now preparing drug-related charges against the suspects, who are presently detained at the Bago City Police Station./DGB, WDJ
