Participants of the Southeast Asia Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO) Teacher Exchange Program, who are in the Philippines gaining pre-service teaching experience at schools across Capiz, recently visited Iloilo City.
While in the city, they visited the Department of Tourism-Region VI office and toured the city.
“We are having a nice stay here and it feels like home,” said program participant Pamela Geraldine Joris Winerungan, who is from Indonesia.
Supervising Tourism Operations officer, Atty. Sedfrey Cabaluna, lauded the exchange program.
“[The] SEAMEO Teacher Exchange Program is a good avenue for cultural and best practices exchange,” he said. “Foreign participants will be immersed in our educational system, while Filipino teachers, who are participants of the program, are also exposed to the kind of teaching methods and practices in other countries.”
The group is comprised of seven participants from Indonesia and three from Thailand./WDJ
