A high-value drug target managed to elude police late Monday night following a buy-bust operation at Punta Rojas in Barangay 6, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental.

Police identified the suspect as 44-year-old Ron ‘Porokoy’ Reyes, a level two drug target and resident of the said area.

Kabankalan City police said Reyes sold one small sachet of suspected shabu to a police poseur buyer in exchange for P1,000.

However, as the undercover cop was about to signal operatives, the suspect reportedly closed the door to his room and ran out the back door of his home.

Cops immediately gave chase but Reyes managed to elude capture.

A subsequent search of the suspect’s room yielded seven sachets of suspected shabu, drug paraphernalia, and 17 empty transparent plastic sachets.

Authorities valued the recovered illicit substances at P12,000.

Kabankalan City police are presently conducting a manhunt operation against Reyes./DGB, WDJ
