The University of Perpetual Help System DALTA-Atlas (UPHSD Altas) recently moved close to clinching the NCAA Season 94 women’s volleyball title after their 21-25, 25-17, 25-21, 25-20 win over Arellano University in Game 1 of the finals at the San Juan Arena.

Cindy Imbo led the way for UPHSD Altas with a double-double scoring 18 points (including 16 attacks) and 16 receptions, while Jhona Rosal added 12 markers, with 10 attacks.

UPHSD Altas can clinch their first title since 2013 by winning Game 2 on Friday, February 8.

After losing the opening set, UPHSD Altas came back strong in the second frame as it surged to a 17-12 lead and never looked back. They also took advantage of Arellano’s reception woes with consecutive aces, easily taking the third set.

Arellano’s offensive struggles continued in the fourth set as UPHSD Altas jumped to a 17-11 lead on conversions from Imbo. Attacks from Rosal allowed Perpetual Help to wrap up the match./ASC, WDJ
